Our names are Naomi and Alice and 'Arthur's Play Space' is a new venture for us in memory of Naomi's husband, Sam Arthur. We have created this learning space based on our own experiences whilst working in educational settings and with Sam in our minds every step of the way.
Arthur's Play Space is an indoor and outdoor play space for children focussing on the fundamental development needs of children from 0-6 years old. Our play space has cleverly constructed areas which focus on the 7 Early Learning Goals with a heavy focus on young children’s communication and language skills, personal, social and emotional development and their physical development. The areas we have include a baby area, a construction area, a role play area, a creative area, a gross motor area and a sensory area both indoors and outdoors!
Based in the village of North Baddesley, our aim is to create a community vibe where you can enjoy a coffee, a selection of teas, treats and hot/cold food while your children enjoy our play space. Our cafe is open to the public. We would like people to come in as a customer and leave as a friend.
Sam sadly passed away 31st December 2022 whilst on a run. Sam loved and was fascinated by all things Space. He was a fantastic Year 1 teacher who loved teaching children. We have combined his love of Space and education to create 'Arthur's Play Space'. Sam and Naomi always dreamt of opening up a cafe due to Sam's love of baking. Any occasion, Sam would use that opportunity to bake. His speciality was a Victoria Sponge Cake and Caramel Shortbread Squares. Look out for these delicious cakes from time to time!
